IGOR AND THE

HIPPIE LAND (IATHL)

Don’t try looking for Hippie Land on any map — it’s a mythical territory imagined by singer, guitarist and pianist Igor Stanislas alongside lead guitarist and mandolinist Emanuel McManus.
More than a name, In A Tiny Hippie Land is a metaphor: the vision of an imaginary refuge standing against the growing negativity, division and anxiety of today’s world. A place where music, creativity and emotion remain acts of resistance and freedom.

A musical sanctuary where melodic rock, psychedelic textures and cinematic atmospheres meet in timeless fashion.

Since their debut, IATHL have crafted a singular universe inspired by the golden age of the late 60s and 70s, echoing the spirit of The Beatles, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and The Beach Boys, while constantly evolving beyond those influences.

From the psychedelic pop of Dig for Victory to the expansive and emotionally charged Love and Chaos, the band has built a rich discography driven by elegant songwriting, lush harmonies and carefully sculpted arrangements.
With 4, IATHL took a surprising artistic turn toward a darker, more urban and electronic sound, blending hypnotic grooves, symphonic textures and cinematic atmospheres while preserving the melodic identity at the heart of the project.

With Love and Chaos, IATHL delivered a sophisticated and ever-evolving musical fresco, elevated by the lyrics of British author Claire Gristwood. Blending intimate reflections with visions of a fractured world, the album celebrates love as a universal antidote to chaos — classic rock in its most noble and timeless form.

During the 2020 lockdown period, the band explored darker and more urban territories, incorporating electronic textures and symphonic arrangements into the album 4. Produced at Dragonwhy Productions and mastered by Bill Skibbe at Third Man Records in Detroit (Jack White, The Kills, Franz Ferdinand, The Black Keys, Oasis, Kasabian…), the album revealed a more cinematic and modern side of the band: elegant, immersive and intensely atmospheric.

Over the years, IATHL have performed extensively across France and the Netherlands, and were invited to Sonoma, California by John Myers from KSVY Radio for a series of concerts, radio interviews, press features and a video shoot in San Francisco.

Following the release of the digital EP Back and Forth in 2024, the duo is currently preparing a new album for 2027 — a rawer, more direct and resolutely rock-oriented project, reconnecting with the energy and spontaneity of their earliest influences. A deeply personal concept album built around songs originally written in their twenties.
